Description
It ferments in oak vats for about twenty days, ages for a year in barrique and for eight months in large wooden barrels. The “Staffes”, Merlot Riserva dell’ Alto Adige produced by the Kornell winery, admirably brings together the varietal components, with the tertiary tones released to the wine by aging in wood. It offers elegance and refinement, without ever giving up showing its strong, generous and substantial character.
It has a beautiful intense ruby red to the eye. The nose perceives fruity hints of raspberry and plum, which are followed by elegant spicy tones and hints of chocolate. In the mouth the drink is flowing, the tannic texture is evident but never annoying, and the closure is pleasant. It goes well with cured meats and aged cheeses, but is also excellent in combination with white meats. Ideal to accompany roast chicken with aromatic herbs.
