Valpolicella Classico from the Antolini winery is the wine that best represents the traditions and character of this wonderful hilly area, located north-west of the city of Verona, not far from Lake Garda. Although international fame came with Amarone, Valpolicella Classico has been the symbolic wine of the territory for centuries. Produced with the native red grape varieties Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella, it is a fresh and fragrant red, with a smooth, immediate sip and a pleasantly crunchy fruit. Its extraordinary ductility in combinations makes it a perfect table companion. The Valpolicella Classico wine of the Antolini winery is born in the heart of the hilly area of Valpolicella. The estate of about 9 hectares extends over gentle hills characterized by soils mainly composed of limestone, clays and tuffs. The climate is mild, thanks to the breezes of the nearby Lake Garda. Since the time of the Ancient Romans, the Valpolicella area was famous for its wines and still today viticulture has retained great importance and a strong territorial flavor. The native red berried grapes are still cultivated, without easy concessions to the fashion of international vines and wines with a profile of great typicality and authenticity continue to be produced. First of all the Valpolicella Classico, a pure and direct red, very pleasant to drink. Antolini’s red Valpolicella Classico is born from Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella grapes, coming from old vines planted in 1970 and from some recent vineyards, dating back to 2010. At the end of the harvest, the grapes are fermented in steel tanks with use of only indigenous yeasts and with a maceration on the skins for about a week. Before bottling, the wine rests for a period of 9-11 months in steel tanks. In the glass it shows a brilliant ruby color. The aromas are fragrant, with delicate floral hints, aromas of red fruit and light spicy touches. On the palate it is slender and lively, pleasantly juicy and with subtle tannins, with a fresh and savory sip.
