This pure Sangiovese comes from the “Viticciana” vineyard. This vineyard, commissioned by our father Ugo Contini Bonacossi, was designed and built by him. It has the characteristic of having the rows interrupted by two “giropoggio” roads, in counter-slope, which channel rainwater and avoid the erosion of the precious earth. The rows are embellished with rose plants chosen by him and lovingly watered in summer. The exposure of the vines is perfect. The grapes are harvested by hand. The grape variety used for its production is 100% pure Sangiovese. The production area is that of Carmignano in the province of Prato. The harvest takes place at the end of September. Vinification in steel tanks follows where the wine remains for 7 days during which it ferments. This is followed by further 13 days of maceration with the skins before racking, at a temperature of 26/28 ° c. Refinement is complex and lasts for at least 24 months.
