Syrah “Per Sempre” represents the pinnacle of excellence of the Tua Rita winery. This is a production limited to a few high quality bottles, made out of love for this fascinating variety of the Rhone Valley. It is a Syrah aged in barrique, intense and deep, which demonstrates how the grape has adapted well to the warm and breezy climate of the Tuscan Metalliferous Hills area of the Val di Cornia. Its bouquet of ripe fruit and spices is tinged with a clear mineral presence typical of the terroir.
The “Per Sempre” wine comes from a Syrah vineyard planted with spurred cordon, with a planting density of 8500 vines per hectare and managed under organic farming. The vineyard is located in the area between the Tyrrhenian coast and the Metalliferous Hills. The soils, mainly composed of clay, with an abundant presence of skeleton, are very rich in mineral substances and give the wines a particular iron and saline connotation, typically territorial. After the manual harvest, the grapes are sent to spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts which takes place in oak vats. The wine ages for a period of 20-22 months in French oak barriques of first passage. It is bottled in the summer and left to rest in the cellar for a few more months before being put on sale.
Syrah “Per Sempre” represents the wine of the heart of Tua Rita. The label produced exclusively out of passion for Syrah. After many years of cultivation and experiments, the wine finally saw the light, only when the fruit of the vineyard was so rich and intense, to be sure of being able to make a great wine. In the glass it has a dark ruby color. The nose expresses ripe aromas of currant, blackberry, cherry, plum jam, elegant spicy notes, toasted hints of coffee and nuances of blond tobacco. On the palate it has an important structure, a dense body, with a deep and persistent fruit, which is enriched during the course of the sip with refined tertiary notes. The tannic texture is dense and evolved, the finish closes on a balanced freshness, embellished with savory and mineral sensations.
