The selected vines are composed of a blend of white grape varieties grown in the Aosta Valley in the classic area where the prestigious Les Cretes winery operates. In the territories of Aymavilles, Montjovet, Villeneuve. The age of the vineyards is 30 years and they arise on soils that are characterized by the morainic formation, of a loose type and rich in sand. The exposure is varied, and the elevation ranges from 350 meters to 700 meters above sea level. The viticultural system has particular characteristics: it covers an area of about 0.80 hectares, the row is first set in Controspalliera and then, turned to Guyot. It reaches a density of 7,500 vines per hectare and develops a yield of 50 quintals per hectare of vineyard. The harvest starts in mid-September and is immediately followed by the vinification which develops partly in 30-hectolitre oak barrels and partly in 300-liter barriques with “sur lie” permanence for 11 months. Refinement in bottle is instead of further 12 months. In 2015, the les Cretes winery opened a new tasting point to the public that it immediately called “THE WINE REFUGE”. For the occasion he dedicated to this structure, rich in cultural meanings, this wine produced from a blend of selected white grapes from our production sector. It was called “Neige d’or”, (Golden snow) to signify the whiteness and purity of the snow that perennially whitens the Aosta Valley mountains. Upon organoleptic examination, it looks like a wine of a beautiful straw yellow color with a greenish edge. The scent is expressed on the nose on fruity, floral and spicy notes. The taste has a precise taste-olfactory correspondence that harmoniously accompanies a consistent and complex pulp on the palate. It closes persistently in the mouth with great elegance.
