Description
In fact, in the 1980s it was the first South Tyrolean white wine to establish itself on international markets. The vineyards of the farm, which are located in different microzones in Magrè, react, year by year, in a different way to climatic conditions. Our task is to interpret them, combining their grapes and their wines in the best possible way to obtain a new masterpiece in each vintage. Chardonnay grapes vinified in purity and raised with the method of controlled organic and dynamic cultivation, with Demeter certification. The origin of the grapes is that of the best plots belonging to the Löwengang Estate in Magrè. The soils rise at an altitude above sea level between 230 and 330 meters. The peculiar characteristic of the land is the richness of sand, the presence of gravel and a lot of limestone, elements that give a boundless minerality to the wine. The age of the vines is between 20 and 70 years. The harvest takes place at the beginning of September and the immediate vinification of the grapes involves a first spontaneous fermentation of the must in barriques and a subsequent aging of the wine on the lees, always in barriques for at least 11 months. The aging in cask allows to smooth out the great minerality and gives a full-bodied wine with ample aromas.
