The name FREIENFELD derives from the Renaissance estate of the same name, where the winery was founded in 1900. Even then, the slopes of Cortaccia on porous dolomitic-calcareous soil, exposed to the sun, revealed their potential for Cabernet. FREIENFELD is vinified only with an optimal trend of weather conditions. The nose dominates black berries and Mediterranean spices (laurel, marjoram, lavender). The exuberant richness of fruit is supported by a fine-grained tannin. Notes of peppermint and stone pine testify to its alpine imprint. The soft tannin present and the stimulating acidity suggest a very long ripening potential.
