Description
A bottle that embodies all the beauty of the most suitable areas of the Langhe for the production of Barolo. This Pio Cesare label manages to synthetically describe the great and different Piedmontese terroirs, where Nebbiolo finds the ideal growth conditions to give life to a balanced and long-lived product. It is in fact made from a mix of grapes from all the most prestigious company vineyards, where every nuance tells a different hill and parcel of land. A great red wine, where strength and finesse move in unison, giving a structured and at the same time satisfying and flowing drink.
The Pio Cesare winery creates this Barolo DOCG as a real puzzle, starting from Nebbiolo grapes grown in the most important vineyards of Serralunga d’Alba, Grinzane Cavour, La Morra, Novello and Monforte d’Alba. The bunches, carefully selected during the harvest, ferment in steel, macerating slowly for about 25-30 days. Then we move on to the refinement phase, carried out for 30 months in oak barrels and, for a small part of the mass, also in barrique.
The Pio Cesare Barolo DOCG is presented in the glass with a light and pale ruby red color, tending to garnet in the nail. The nose is elegant and refined, where subtle fruity notes mix with more mineral and balsamic herbal sensations. On the palate it has a vigorous and muscular body, with a structure that is revealed however with a soft and pleasantly fresh sip, where the tannins appear with a well-defined profile; ends with a long and persistent finish. An excellent label, which interprets the Langhe terroir in a classic and traditional way through one of the most famous red wines in the world: to try to enjoy an evening dedicated to quality.
